The ALT Conference is always a great start to the academic year, offering valuable insights and engaging discussions. It provided an excellent opportunity to network and share the success of our recent project with Arden University.

Our Experience

Key themes included human-centered learning design, iterative course development, and AI integration, all shaping the future of EdTech. Accessibility and inclusion were also central topics, emphasising universal design and the importance of lived experiences in creating inclusive environments.

Collaborative course development emerged as a growing trend, where educators, students, and technologists should work together to create flexible, personalised learning experiences.

These themes align closely with the role of digital assessment tools, which can streamline and personalise assessments, offering greater flexibility for diverse student needs.

The Jisc “Beyond Blended” session was particularly impactful, focusing on reimagining curriculum and learning design, with more info available from Helen Beetham & Sarah Knight.

“As the 2024/25 academic year gets underway, we look forward to continuing discussions and engaging actively with the ALT community.

Active participation allows us to stay agile and responsive to the evolving needs of our partners and the broader educational sector.”

Maintain Support

Participants have access to a Text Reader which is designed to assist users with visual impairments, reading disabilities, or those who prefer auditory learning. It converts written content into spoken words, enabling users to listen to the text instead of reading it on screen. Operating the tool is straightforward for test takers: they can easily highlight the desired text and simply press play to have the text read aloud through their speakers or headphones.

We are continually evaluating and developing our services, web products, and solutions to improve against accessibility and design standards and best practices.

We are undergoing a WACAG Audit and will publish our accessibility statement once available. We are accessibility accredited by the Ministry of Education for our work in universities in the Middle East.
